School Field Trips

Brooklyn Schools

Grades 2 -3

Into the Future is a learning space and creative studio led by Futurist Garry Golden. We are located at the corner of 7th Ave and Windsor Place in Park Slope, Brooklyn. We’re a space that invites young people to explore how the world is changing and how they can use their ideas and imagination to lead us into the future.

Our field trips are specially crafted hour-long experiences for 2nd - 3rd grade students. We welcome your class into our space to explore and learn together. Field trips are design-focused and align closely with your school’s science, social studies, and STEAM curriculum.

Field Trip

Nebula Jars

We will learn about the formation and makeup of nebulae and explore humans’ relationship to stars, the galaxy, and beyond. Then, using paint, glitter, and cotton, students will create their own “Nebula Jars” to bring the magic home with them!

Field Trip

Wildlife Bridges

We will investigate how wildlife bridges help animals and ecosystems, and why human interference has made them necessary. Students will then build their own innovative wildlife bridge prototypes, exploring the relationship between human inventions and the natural world.

Field Trip

Future Headphones

We will learn about the science of sound and the evolution of headphones, exploring how sound works and how technology has transformed the way we listen. Then students will design and build their own “future headphones" with imaginative features like health monitoring or language translation.

Build of the Week

Every week at Into the Future we use our Past-Present-Future framework to explore one idea or object, and then build our own models of future versions of it. Ask us what our FutureTime build of the week will be during your visit!
