What is The Futures Club ?
The Futures Club is an online membership group for young people ages 15-25 who are eager to transform how they see the world and explore ways of influencing the future.
Led by Futurist Garry Golden, we combine lessons from entrepreneurship, innovation, and strategic foresight.
As a community we will explore opportunities being reshaped by changes happening in society, technology, politics and business.
This is a community seeking to understand the long view of the Big Picture!
Our Focus: Signals, Structure & Speculative Design
By joining this community you are seeking to expand understanding of what is changing in our world and explore how we might change the future. Member products and experience focus around three areas:
Signals
Signals are visible evidence of change in the world today - that suggest how the future might be different. Signals can be news stories, new products or solutions, or a capture of a real-world conversation in our lives. Club members receive curated signals as a source of insight and inspiration to imagine different futures.
Structure
Structure refers to how the world works! We seek to understand and build knowledge around how major sectors and industries actually work! Members have access to short course content that breakdown sectors and the dynamics of key players, policies and market design. We will look deeply at social change driven by demographic transitions and shifts in social norms and value systems.
Speculative Design
Speculative Design is an interdisciplinary practice of creating fictional images of plausible and provocative futures. We synthesize our work around signals and structure to bring the future to life by creating design fiction stories, memes and images of tomorrow.
The Experience Delivered
The Futures Club exists across a range of platforms - from text messaging, webinars and online courses.
Members can connect in our official online courses or across their preferred social media networks using #futuresclub hashtags.
Membership Levels
Basic Membership is $30 per month.
This includes access to daily media feeds, weekly special events and access to core classes.
Special Events and projects will be available for additional charges.
